Fee Policy

At Shyam Car Rentals, transparency and fairness are at the core of our service. Our fee structure ensures that customers understand all applicable charges clearly before confirming a booking. Please review the following details carefully before proceeding with your reservation.

1. Booking and Rental Charges

All rental charges are calculated based on the vehicle type, rental duration, and selected package. The total payable amount will be displayed at the time of booking. Additional kilometers, extended hours, or change in plans may attract extra charges as per company policy.

2. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit is required for every booking. The deposit amount varies depending on the car category and location. This amount is collected to cover potential penalties such as traffic violations, late returns, damages, or other non-compliance with the rental agreement.

3. Late Return Fees

Returning a vehicle later than the agreed-upon time will result in an additional hourly or daily charge. We recommend informing our team in advance if you expect a delay, to help us adjust your schedule and minimize extra costs.

4. Damage and Violation Fees

In the event of an accident, damage, or any violation of traffic rules during the rental period, the renter is liable for associated costs, including repair, replacement, or government fines. The company reserves the right to deduct these charges from the security deposit.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the pickup time will receive a partial refund, after standard processing fees.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of pickup or after vehicle dispatch are non-refundable.

Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within 5–7 business days to the original payment method.

6. Payment Methods

We accept secure payments through UPI, credit/debit cards, net banking, and wallet transfers. Cash payments may be accepted at select locations, subject to availability and verification.

7. Toll, Parking, and Fuel Charges

All tolls, parking fees, and fuel costs during the rental are the responsibility of the renter. Cars must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of delivery to avoid refueling charges.

8. Modifications to Booking

Any modification to an existing booking (date, vehicle type, or duration) is subject to availability and may incur an additional charge. Please contact our customer support team for assistance.

Note:

Payments owed by members will be deducted from the security deposit. If the security deposit does not cover such payments, the balance must be paid by the member electronically.

Please note there are four cases where there will be exceptions:

In the event the member is found to be under the influence of alcohol during a booking, the member will be held liable for 100% of the vehicle damage bill as per the invoice received from the vehicle workshop.
The member will be liable for 100% of the entire vehicle damage bill in the event that the vehicle workshop and/or insurance company deem the damage to be consequential in nature. Consequential damage occurs when the member continues driving even after an external vehicle impact, thereby severely undermining the condition of the vehicle.
If a non–Shyam Car Rentals member is found to be driving at the time of an accident, then the member will be held liable for 100% of the vehicle damage bill as per the invoice received from the workshop.
Only SUV vehicles are permitted for trips to regions with higher altitudes including but not limited to Leh or Ladakh. Damages caused to vehicles outside the SUV category (such as EcoSport, Scorpio, XUV, Tata Safari, Toyota Fortuner) will attract a charge of ₹10,000 along with repair costs, towing, travel, and other related expenses on an actual basis.

Member’s Responsibility

If a Shyam Car Rentals member is found violating the law or company rules (e.g., overspeeding or driving under the influence), the member will be held responsible for all damages, liabilities, and fines, and may face legal action.

Tolls:

Members are responsible for paying all tolls at the time they are due.
Shyam Car Rentals vehicles are registered with an All India Permit, allowing them to enter any state in India.
Members must pay all inter-state taxes and fees upon entering a neighbouring state. Shyam Car Rentals shall reimburse state entry fees only when the member rents for a duration of three months or more.

Policy Amendments

By joining Shyam Car Rentals, the member agrees to pay all applicable fees, costs, and charges as outlined in this policy and the rental agreement. Other fees may apply as per specific terms, which will be communicated to the member when relevant.

Shyam Car Rentals reserves the right to modify the terms of this policy from time to time. Notice of such changes shall be deemed given when displayed on the website or sent via email to the registered member. The updated terms shall become effective upon posting on the website or on the date specified in the notice, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility

Shyam Car Rentals takes pride in being completely transparent with our members. Please review the eligibility requirements carefully before making a reservation.

Minimum Age Requirement

Customer should be 20 years or older to book premium cars such as Mercedes A Class, GLA, CLA, Audi Q3, Toyota Fortuner, and Ford Endeavour. Bookings below this age may be cancelled.

Valid Documents

Member must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (Non-Transport) Indian driving license and a valid Aadhaar card.

Age for Normal Bookings

Members must be at least 18 years of age for standard car bookings with Shyam Car Rentals.

No Alcohol or Drugs

Members must be sober and free of any influence of alcohol or drugs during the trip. Violation may lead to booking cancellation or penalties.
